Sadie Hawkins dance help?

I hate it when our school does this. I wanted to ask this girl, but they made it a Sadie Hawkins dance, so I guess I can't ask her. I'm now worried that she's just going to ask another guy because she doesn't think I'm interested. I've already asked her to the movie but I think I fell into the friend zone. What should I do?
