How do you make chunky waves in your hair!?

i wanna look awesome tomorrow, so i wanna put some chunky waves in my hair, but i dont know how to do it ! please help!? and i really would rather not use hair spray, ITS CALLED THE OZONE! my brother used up all the hair spray! and i dont like how it makes your hair stiff!
