If someone liked you and they also confessed that they don't want to like you, how would you feel?

I like this girl; she's very attractive. She knows I like her but last night, I confessed that I'm just infatuated with her and trying to "cure" it. If you were her, would you feel "rejected" by what I said? Basically, I told her and myself that I need to get to know her more as a person before I can like her and I cannot like her simply based on her looks.
