Discussion on gun ban?

Lets think logically for a second. If, for instance, all the guns do get taken away, what will it do besides further take away our rights? All that will happen is these guys who are being hit hard for drug trafficking in South America and Mexico will just switch over to smuggling guns. Then people's houses will be broken into much more often, and we wont have any way to defend ourselves. You cant depend on the police for protection all the time either. Terrorists could pull off an attack much easier as well. Regardless of whether we sell guns here or not, bad guys will get them some way or another. Homemade guns arent out of the question either. People will make projectile weapons with CO2 and stuff like that. It doesnt make sense to do that at all. Thoughts?
