Is it unusual for one to be somewhat misanthropic, but also...?

What we think we see in others is usually an accurate mirror of ourselves. A misanthrope will see same qualities in another because they will have instantly recognized that quality in another. What I mean is, they will have judged. Don't judge our own perceived shortcomings, that way you can view other people people with a blank slate. Does that make sense?
